This journey is full of contrasts. Leaving the metropole Hamburg you will cycle through untouched nature and pass through dreamy towns and villages. Broad extended floodplains, beautiful half-timbered buildings and traces of 1000 years-old history will come across your way.

Category A: Mainly centrally located three and four star hotels and guesthouses (in small towns you will be staying overnight in comfortable pensions).

Category B: Three star hotels, guesthouses and pensions usually close to the cycle path.

General Information:
Because of the direction of the wind, we recommend that you cycle this tour upstream. The difference in elevation is minimal. The description in the map however follows the course of the Elbe river.

Since 2010, €1.00 per participant will be taken from the profit made by each Active Tour and donated to Dresdner Kinderhilfe e.V. – a Dresden-based charity providing support to children with chronic illnesses.
