Visit one of the most beautiful and unique biosphere reserves in Europe. The terms “Spree” and Spreewaldfliesse“Wald” describe more than 100 kilometre unspoiled fine-meshed water net in a very confined space. Since 1991 it is a protected area listed by UNESCO.

Quaint wrap-round houses, enchanting towns with many sights, large tracts of heath and scenic ponds as well as the Spree valley all lie along this fascinating cycling route. You can familiarise yourself more with the Spree valley on the special route, the Cucumber Cycle Path. Here the Spree river divides itself into numerous arms which wind their way

through vast meadows and forests therebycreating a unique habitat where people have lived and worked in harmony with nature for many centuries.
