I have been at AugustusTours since...	... it all started on the 15th of February 1997.
My role at AugustusTours...	... I have my hands on the reins and ensure that we not only provide our guests with excellent service at all times, but also continue to come up with exciting new products and services.
My home port is...	...Schkeuditz, which is between Halle and Leipzig.
My favourite travel destinations...	....include fantastic locations both in Germany and around the world. Amongst the most magical are the Alps and Bolano, a little village in southern Toscana where it can truly be said that “la vita è bella”.
My favourite place on the Saxon Wine Route...	....is my vineyard in Dresden-Wachwitz, which some friends and I run as a hobby. A breathtaking view of the Blue Wonder bridge and across Dresden itself turn even the most strenuous viticultural work into a real pleasure.
Relaxation is...	...listening to music by Rosenstolz, Herbert Grönemeyer or Kim Wilde..
My best experience at AugustusTours...	…was a discovery tour of Dresden my employees surprised me with in the summer of 2010.

I have been at AugustusTours since...	...2002.
My responsibility at AugustusTours...	...is managing the Active Holidays department. I am also closely involved in product development and customer service.
My home port is...	...Sornßig, a tiny village in the charming Upper Lusatia region.
The best German holiday destination is...	.... the Baltic – always a treat!
My favourite cycle path...	... is the Oder-Neiße Cycle Path, because you can cycle from the Jizera Mountains in the Czech Republic all the way to Usedom on the Baltic coast. What is more, its excellently made paths pass through lovely towns such as Zittau, Görlitz or Neuzelle.
In my free time...	... I sometimes go wild with a spot of bungee jumping or parachuting, but usually I do “normal” things such as days out with my family or spending an evening eating raclette, playing games or chatting with my girlfriends.
I like to relax at...	...concerts by bands such as Depeche Mode, AND ONE and Placebo – it’s great to just lose yourself in the music.
Temptation is...	...sweets of (almost) all types. It is also difficult to say “no” to my son when he looks at me with puppy eyes.

My duties at AugustusTours...	...involve drawing up quotes for active tours. I am also a walking tours representative and an internet content editor.
My home port is...	...on the outskirts of Dresden – but I am regularly drawn into the city’s fascinating old town.
My favourite travel destination in Saxony...	...is Saxon Switzerland – it’s right on the doorstep and its landscapes are second to none.
in the world...	...is Italy. The mix of climate, food, wine and people is just right for me.
My favourite cycle path...	...is every path I explore on my bike. One I would definitely do again is the Oder-Neiße Cycle Path, because the natural landscapes along it are so unspoilt and it’s great to be able to say you’ve cycled all the way to the Baltic!
In my free time...	...I let off steam with a spot of aikido, snap away with my camera and go walking or cycling as often as I can.
I like to relax by...	...reading a good book or travelling.
Temptation is...	...home-made cake in cosy cafés next to cycle paths – for example along the Saale in Thuringia or on the Oder-Neiße Cycle Path in Brandenburg.

My duties at AugustusTours...	...involve coordinating our fleet of 90 in-house rental bicycles within the framework of tours along the Elbe, Saale, and Mulde, as well as planning the transport of more than 2,500 items of luggage per season to the correct hotel. The challenge is to keep an eye on everything at once!
My home port is...	...Kemnitz, a little village between Zittau and Görlitz in the charming Upper Lusatia region.
My favourite travel destination in Saxony...	...is Upper Lusatia. Whether it is cycling along the Spree, walking in the Zittauer Gebirge mountains or simply relaxing – there is something there for everyone!
in Germany...	...is the North Sea – endless horizons, tranquillity and the sea. Have you ever taken a walk across mud flats at low tide? This is a great place to do it! Once you have recharged your batteries I recommend letting your hair down in the exciting city of Hamburg.
in Europe...	...is Rome and its impressive classical monuments such as the Colosseum, the Pantheon and the Vatican City. Exclusive boutiques selling Gucci, Prada, Versace and other famous brands cater to even the most demanding in fashion-conscious shopping lists!
Temptation is...	...chocolate of all types – whether in bar, biscuit, dessert or ice cream form. Simply irresistible!

My favourite place in Dresden is...	...the Schillergarten cafe and restaurant, which offers a variety of scrumptuous cakes, hearty meals and tasty beers right next to the Blue Wonder bridge. It’s always a pleasure to stop here for refreshment during a tour along the Elbe Cycle Path, which runs right past its welcoming beer garden.
In my free time...	...I enjoy going for a stroll or a walk with my family, which often involves exploring Dresden and the surrounding region or meeting up with friends.

My favourite travel destination...	...is Andalusia. I have lived and worked there for a number of months three times, and have even brought a few bits of Spanish flair back to Germany – instead of a traditional Christmas tree I have a festively decorated palm tree!
My secret tip...	...on Lake Constance is to combine a visit to the monastery island of Reichenau with a stop at Riebel fishmonger’s. Located directly adjacent to the lake-side cycle path, it offers the most delicious in local fish specialties – try the whitefish!
In my freetime...	...I love to ride my scooter or bike, and always make the most of opportunities to stop and take a photo.

The best German holiday destination is...	...Upper Lusatia. With its rolling hills, former mines, endless meadows and ponds, this idyllic, unspoilt region is a great place to relax and unwind.

My secret tip...	...in Berlin is Marzahn Recreational Park! This huge park is full of nature and divided into various themed areas. There is a wealth of things to discover, and you will leave feeling relaxed and refreshed.
I like to relax...	...with a good book and a tasty cup of tea. When the weather isn’t great I also like puzzles and talking books.

My secret tip in Dresden...	... is a trip to Pillnitz Palace Night, which offers visitors all the romance of delicious food, sumptuous Saxon wine and excellent music in charmingly illuminated palace grounds.

My home port is...	...Luckau, a peaceful little town in the beautiful Spreewald forest.
My favourite travel destinations...	...are Barcelona and London – both of them exciting, multicultural cities which offer something for everyone. You can go back again and again – there is always something new to discover!
My favourite cycle path...	...is the Fürst Pückler Cycle Path – an enchanting yet well-developed route which extends through 310 miles of Lusatian landscapes. It takes you past traditional settlements and villages, castles and parks and imposing industrial landmarks. Former open-cast brown coal mines in the area have been turned into a remarkable collection of lakes covering a total area of around 14,000 hectares.
In my free time...	...I love to cook, laugh and dance! Ideally with friends and a good bottle of wine in my flat’s big shared kitchen.

The best German holiday destination is...	...the Harz! Whether you are an admirer of half-timbered buildings, a lover of nature or a stalactite researcher, there is so much to discover that you will keep coming back for more! That said, a beach holiday on Darß is not bad either...
The best European holiday takes you to...	...Spain. Tapas, cerveza, vino and the Spanish language itself exude a sense of joie de vivre.
In my free time	...I am often found with a board game, book or microphone in my hand, and sing in a rock band.

My favourite place in Saxon Switzerland...	...is the Rauensteine rock formation, as I walked past it many times during my childhood. Back then I was in awe of it, and found the rocks to be great for climbing. Today I prefer to simply enjoy the unique view.
My favourite place in Dresden...	...is the Elbe meadows on the Neustadt side of the river. The section stretching from the rose gardens to the Marienbrücke bridge features a charming array of works of art, for example Ernst Moritz Geyger’s archer. I am a particular fan of the Japanese pavilion and its bronze bells, which ring a number of times each day.
I like to switch off with...	...sunshine and the inspiring words of Hermann Hesse.
