After having successfully passed her studies in Leisure and Tourism Management at the Dresden University of Technology, the University of Wales and the Université de Caen (France) she founded AugustusTours in 1997. She is full of new ideas, continuous improvement and development of products and services are her motto. Privately she takes care of her little sons Felix and Simon and works in her vineyard in Dresden-Wachwitz.

While exhibiting great pleasure and enthusiasm for the city of Dresden and its lovely environs, the resident of Dresden devotes herself to tourist parties from Germany and other countries. She particularly likes to take railway enthusiasts from Great Britain to all those places where steam and smoke billows are being emitted. The senior staff member also endeavours to ensure a pleasant working climate at Augustus Tours where she controls all the activities of the City and Study Tours department.

We are happy that Manja Lehmann is back at AugustusTours since July 2009 after her maternity leave.

Manja Lehmann is a trained tourism assistant who was born in Meißen in Saxony and has been working for AugustusTours in the City and Study Tours department since 2002. Before this she gained experience in Great Britain and in the hotel industry. She is an acknowledged expert for city tours to Dresden, Leipzig and Bavaria and for the Reformation period and the Luther sites.

Matthias Hoyer has been a staff member of AugustusTours since 2005. He was born in Bautzen in Saxony and completed his training as an International Tourism Assistant in Görlitz. Since then he has been arranging City and Study Tours to Saxony for AugustusTours. His favourite destinations in Saxony include Dresden and Upper Lusatia.

Franziska Hengst has been with Augustus Tours since April 2007. After completing her training as an international tourism assistant in 2006, she went down under on a working holiday to experience the Australian
way of life . Now that she's back in town she is supporting the City and Study Tours department.

Melanie Garbe successfully completed three years of studies in Business Economics at the University of Cooperative Education in 2005. She has also undertaken practical training at AugustusTours. Since this time she has been working for AugustusTours where she is presently focusing on advising tourists on wine tours and wine hikes. She is now in charge of the Marketing and the Quality Management of AugustusTours.

Ricarda Mager has been a staff member of AugustusTours since the beginning of 2002. She was born in Bautzen in Saxony and completed her training as a state-certified International Tourism Assistant in Jena in Thuringia. She is responsible for assuring that our clients experience unforgettable and trouble-free cycle tours. Her personal favourites are the Elbe and Oder-Neiße cycle pathes.

Verena Riedel has been working in the Cycling and Walking Tours department since March of 2004. She has undergone training as a Tourism Assistant.
From August 2010 she will take her one year lasting maternity leave. We wish her all the best.

Constanze Hauf has been working for AugustusTours since February of 2006. She has had several years of practical experience in the cycle tour business in Europe as a tour manager and cyclist, office clerk and workshop mechanic. She has now returned to her home town of Dresden where she is helping to arrange walking tours to the Sandstone Mountains and along the Saxon Wine Walking Trail. She is also responsible for arranging cycle tours. Her favorite is the Saale cycle path.

Sarah Schmied completed successfully her training as an international tourism assistant in summer 2007 in Görlitz and gained first practical experiences working for the Tourism Marketing and Promotion Board of Saxony. In the department of cycling and walking holidays she will be responsible for the logistics ensuring 2500 luggage pieces will be at the right time at the right place.

In September 2009, Anne-Kathrin Liebthal successfully passed her studies in Economics in the field of tourism. Due to the three-month periods of her practical training she has been a staff member of AugustusTours since October 2006. She is now coordinating several projects concerning online marketing and software, and she also supports the department of city and study tours.

Having successfully completed his secondary education in the summer of 2008 Maximilian joined us for a four-week internship. Since the beginning of October 2008 he has been studying Tourism Economics at the University of Cooperative Education in Breitenbrunn. Over the next three years the practical sections of his course will see him assist the AugustusTours Cycle and Walking Tours department.

The 1st of October saw Josefine Klatt begin a BA in Sport Management and Event Marketing at the University of Cooperative Education in Riesa. Having worked for AugustusTours on a seasonal basis during the summer of 2008, she has got to know the company and will continue to support our team as a student in our marketing department. Born in Brandenburg, Josefine came to Dresden in 2004 to train as a tourism specialist. She liked Dresden so much that she stayed!
