Wine tours in Saxony and other German wine growing areas
Dresden is situated at the Saxon Wine Road. Accompanied by the Elbe river between Pirna and Diesbar-Seusslitz, the Saxon Wine Road winds through picturesque countryside with romantic wine villages, splendid palaces and beautiful parks. The wines of the 13th wine-growing region in Germany, the second smallest and the north-easternmost, are little known beyond the Saxon borders as the wine grown on the 450 hectares is mostly consumed by Saxon connoisseurs themselves. The wine rarities are made known by AugustusTours in wine seminars, vineyard walks and talks with vintners.
If you have only limited time in Dresden, but nevertheless want to taste some Saxon wine, we are glad to organise professional and entertaining wine tasting events and dinners. There are plenty of possibilities. You can choose between the cellar of Pillnitz Palace, the tasting parlour of a cooper from Dresden, a tasting parlour in Radebeul or a historic wine cellar in Meissen. Your hotel is sure to offer the right atmosphere as well.
For groups we also arrange coach tours to other wine regions, such as the Rhine Valley, Franconia or Moselle. In all thirteen German vineyard areas, many of which are named after the nearest river, you can enjoy the atmosphere of the wine country and cultural highlights at the same time.
