Cycling holidays at the Baltic Sea Coast: from Lübeck to Stralsund

Itinerary

• Day 1: Individual arrival in Lübeck
  Take your time and discover the beautiful city of Lübeck, eat a piece of original Lübeck marzipan and relax before starting your bike tour from Lübeck to Stralsund. In the evening you will get your bike and meet up for a talk.
  Overnight stay in Lübeck
• Day 2: Lübeck – Wismar (approx. 58 – 77 km)
  After leaving the city drive north to Travelmünde. You can shorten your way by taking the train (approx. 20 km). In Travelmünde take the ferry to Priwall and enjoy the landscape while driving to the resort town of Boltenhagen. Take a short stroll and continue further to Wismar, where the power of an old and mighty Hanseatic League is mirrored in magnifying architecture. You will spend your night there.

• Day 3: Wismar – Rerik/Kühlungsborn and surroundings (approx. 32 – 61 km)
  Discover the city of Wismar a bit more in the early morning before driving towards the wavy landscape named “Kühlung”. It was formed in the last glacial period. After reaching the town of Kühlungsborn, spend the night there.

• Day 4: Rerik/Kühlungsborn and surroundings – Warnemünde/Rockstock/Bad Doberan (approx. 29 – 43 km)
  Follow the sound of the waves to the white city of Heiligendamm, which is the most beautiful resort town in Germany. Then continue through the vast landscape to Warnemünde, a city near Rostock. If you want to cheat, you can take a train, called “Molli” to Bad Doberan, and continue from there to Warnemünde, where you will spend the night.

• Day 5: Warnemünde/Rostock/Bad Doberan – Fischland (approx. 17 – 62 km)
  In the city of Warnemünde, the Warnow flows into the Baltic. So take a stroll to watch the fisher boats and the expensive yachts swaying on the waves. Then saddle your bike and drive along the road near the sea. Enjoy the view of long beaches and loads of birds. Get a bit of shadow in the dark forests near the coast and relax. The artists in Ahrenshoop have captured the peace and feeling of the Baltic Sea vividly, so take a stroll. Continue your way to Fischland, where you will spend the night.
  Overnight stay at Fischland or in Ribnitz Damgarten oder in Graal-Müritz
• Day 6: Fischland – Darss (approx. 30 – 65 km)
  Start your day with a drive through the forest of Darss to Pererow. Have a break at the romantic beach on the west side of the town and look for the beacon of Darss. It will be totally worth your time. Enjoy your way through the landscape of the Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft, where you perhaps will be able to watch some cranes or grey geese. Finish today in Barth where you will spend your time.
  Overnight stay in Zingst/Barth/Prerow
• Day 7: Darß – Stralsund (approx. 42 – 57 km)
  It is quite a way to Lübeck where the tour will end, so plan enough time. Still in a distance you will be able to see the famous 3 towers of the Marienchurch. Try to leave enough time to visit the church and the museum of the sea or the historic town; they will be worth the time you will want to spend there. Stay overnight in Stralsund for the last evening.

• Day 8: Individual departure from Stralsund
  Before you leave for home, take time for a walk through Stralsund or for having a bath in the Baltic Sea. Of course you can always extend your bicycle tour with extra nights in Stralsund or Lübeck. We are very pleased to arrange additional accommodation for you.
