Itinerary

• Day 1: Individual arrival in Constance
  Take the chance to visit Mainau island or take a walk through the old town of Constance. The aquariums in the Sea Life Center and the Archaeological Museum are also recommended.
  Overnight stay in Constance
• Day 2: Constance – Ludwigshafen/Überlingen (approx. 35 - 50 km)
  Today’s cycle tour leads through Allensbach and Radolfzell along the Höri peninsula, where the writer Hermann Hesse and the artist Otto Dix once lived. Further on the cycle path takes you to the Überlinger Lake and you will reach Überlingen.
  Overnight stay in Ludwigshafen (Category B) or Überlingen (Category A & B)
• Day 3: Ludwigshafen/Überlingen – Kressbronn/Nonnenhorn/Lindau (approx. 45 – 60 km)
  From Überlingen you will cycle to Friedrichshafen. You will pass by the baroque pilgrimage church of Birnau and the ancient town of Meersburg on the way. In Friedrichshafen the Zeppelin museum is worth visiting. Finally you reach Kressbronn.
  Overnight stay in Kressbronn or Lindau (Category A) or Nonnenhorn (Category B)
• Day 4: Kressbronn/Nonnenhorn/Lindau – Höchst/Arbon/Rorschach (ca. 30 – 55 km)
  Today you will travel towards the Bavarian town of Lindau, which is picturesquely situated on an island. Then you will head on towards Bregenz. The capital town of Vorarlberg is famous for its annual drama festival on the largest lake theatre in the world. You will then pass through an important nature reserve on the Rhein delta.
  Overnight stay in Höchst or Arbon (Category A) or Rorschach (Category B)
• Day 5: Höchst/Arbon/Rorschach – Constance (approx. 30 – 50 km)
  Your todays tour leads you through Romanshorn, with the most important Swiss harbour on Lake Constance. You will pass many villages full with wooden framed houses on your way back to Constance. You can visit Mainau island today if you haven’t already done so.
  Overnight stay in Constance
• Day 6: Constance – Schaffhausen (approx. 50 km)
  You will pass picturesque swiss fishing villages at the youth bank of the Untersee while cycling to Stein am Rhein. Take your time to discover the St. Georgen abbey and its sourroundings before cycling to Schaffhausen which is overlooked by the Munot fort.
  Overnight stay in Schaffhausen
• Day 7: Schaffhausen – Rhinefall – Constance (approx. 45 km + boat trip)
  In the morning of your last cycling day you will visit the Rhinefall at Neuhausen, the largest waterfall in Central Europe. A boat will bring you to the Rhinefall rocks, so you will experience the full force of the thunderous waters. Afterwards your will go back to Stein am Rhein by bike and follow the cycle path to Gaienhofen. A boat will take you to Reichenau island which was a major theologically centre in medieval times and today listed as UNESCO world cultural heritage. You will then follow the cycle path to Constance or Kreuzlingen.

• Day 8: Individual departure or extension
  Of course you can always extend your bicycle tour around the Lake Constance with extra nights in Constance or other towns along the cycle route from/to Constance. We are very pleased to arrange additional accommodation for you.
