The Oder-Neisse Cycle Path is ideal for experiencing near-natural cycling tours. The route along the river Oder and the river Neisse leads through dense forests, vast meadows and the National Park Lower Oder Valley.

Take your time picking up fresh and regional fruits from the trees, exploring pretty cities and little towns along the cycle path or watching cows and storks in their natural habitat. A side trip to the Polish part of the Oder and Neisse to get an unforgettable impression of its culture and sights is highly recommended.

Further north, wooded landscape turns into the flat landscape of the Oderhaff, from where you can almost smell the Baltic Sea. At the end of your bike tour a refreshing bath in the Baltic Sea awaits you.

Day 1: Individual arrival in Görlitz
The beautiful city of Görlitz is famed for the architectural riches of its old town, which suffered almost no damage during the Second World War. You will be dazzled by an array of over 4,000 listed buildings from over 500 years of European architectural history!

Day 2: Görlitz – Bad Muskau (approx. 68 km)
On the first day of your tour you will pass through typical moorland villages and the attractive town of Rothenburg. Upon reaching the UNESCO World Heritage Site at Bad Muskau, you have the opportunity to explore Fürst-Pückler-Park with its orangerie, castle and gardens on both sides of the Neiße.

Day 3: Bad Muskau – Guben (approx. 68 km)
The next stop on your tour is in the town of Forst, which boasts a 17-hectare rose garden featuring 800 different varieties of roses and tens of thousands of rose bushes. Guben then awaits you with a number of gems in the form of churches and a church ruin.

Day 4: Guben – Frankfurt/Oder (approx. 65 km)
Shortly after leaving Guben, you will pedal past the confluence of the Neiße and the Oder. The highlight of the day is Neuzelle Abbey, which includes the baroque Abbey Church of St Mary. You journey briefly takes a modern twist as you pass through Eisenhüttenstadt – the first planned town to be completed in the former GDR – before you end the day in the old university town of Frankfurt/Oder.

Day 5: Frankfurt/Oder – Groß Neuendorf/ Altlewin (approx. 58 – 68 km)
Today’s route takes you through the low-lying natural paradise of the Oderbruch marshes. The sea of picturesque fields and seemingly endless tree-lined avenues will accompany you as you pedal through the flat, marshy countryside or along the top of the dike.

Day 6: Groß Neuendorf/Altlewin – Schwedt/Oder (ca. 65 km)
Your route takes you through the Lower Oder Valley National Park, which is Germany’s only national park dedicated to river meadows. You then glide past the Stolper Grützpott – a 12th-century fortified tower – and Lenné Landscape Park in Criewen before arriving in Schwedt/Oder.

Day 7: Schwedt/Oder – Löcknitz (approx. 80 km)
Savour the last few kilometres of unspoilt nature and endless meadows as you near the northern edge of the Lower Oder Valley. From Gartz onwards your route takes you through hilly countryside to Löcknitz.

Day 8: Löcknitz – Ueckermünde (approx. 58 km)
Today’s route is characterised by expansive moorland and picturesque landscapes of the Uecker river and the adjacent Stettiner Haff, a Baltic lagoon at the mouth of the Oder and Peene rivers. A stroll around Ueckermünde’s pretty old town and romantic harbour is a delightful end to a splendid day.

Day 9: Ueckermünde – Island of Usedom (approx. 30 – 45 km)
Your day begins on the early ferry from Ueckermünde to Kamminke on the popular island of Usedom. This gives you plenty of time to cycle around exploring a number of imperial bathing resorts, perhaps even finding a piece of the island’s famed amber on the shoreline. You will stay in either Ückeritz or Zempin, both of which are among the island’s “amber resorts”.

Day 10: Individual departure from the Island of Usedom or extension
You can of course always extend your active holidays with some extra nights on the Island of Usedom. We will be pleased to arrange additional accommodation for you.

Day 2: Stay in Hamburg
Discover the neo-Gothic brick architecture of the city of Hamburg in Hamburg and in contrast the almost futuristic-looking buildings of the ever-growing harbour city.

Day 3: Hamburg – Stade (approx. 50 km)
The "Altes Land" (Old Country), a quiet oasis, is surrounded by meadows and countless water arms. Your route takes you past thousands of apple trees, elongated row villages and picturesque orchards. The day's destination is the city of Stade, over 1,000 years old, with its exemplary renovated old town. Beautiful old half-timbered houses invite you to stroll through the city.

Day 4: Stay in Stade
The beautiful old half-timbered houses invite you to take a morning stroll through Stade. The circular tour along the fruit route takes you through the "Old Country" today. You are also welcome to experience a trip to Buxtehude or just enjoy the day off.

Day 5: Stade – Balje (approx. 70 km)
Through the Kehdinger Land it goes through a protected outdoor dike area. With a little luck, you can spot a few rare bird species. Have a look in Balje at the medieval village "Op de Horn" and the old lighthouse. The beautiful old half-timbered houses invite you to take a morning stroll through Stade. The circular tour along the fruit route takes you through the "Old Country" today. You are also welcome to experience a trip to Buxtehude or just enjoy the day off.

Day 6: Balje – Cuxhaven (approx. 40 km)
Today's bike tour takes you along the Elbe dyke through charming nature and landscape conservation areas. Let the fresh North Sea breeze blow your nose and enjoy the sight of small thatched cottages.

Day 7: Stay in Cuxhaven
There are many attractions to explore in the North Sea city of Cuxhaven. Alternatively, a trip to the island of Neuwerk with a lighthouse is recommended. You can also take a mudflat hike from the national park center or go on a bike tour through the coastal heaths of Cuxhaven.

Day 8: Individual departure or transfer back to Hamburg
You can of course always extend your bike tour with extra nights in Cuxhaven, Stade or other towns. We will be pleased to arrange additional accommodation for you.

Day 1: Individual arrival in Cuxhaven
Welcome to Cuxhaven, the place where the Elbe River meets the North Sea! After your individual arrival in the seaside health resort you should take a deep breath. Enjoy the fresh sea air. What about a walk along the North Sea coast or through the so-called "Wattenmeer"?

Day 2: Stay in Cuxhaven
Today, you can choose between different opportunities to spend your day. You can either stay in Cuxhaven or visit the Island Neuwerk with its lighthouse. An-other alternative activity is a mudflat hiking tour starting from the National Park Center.

Day 3: CuxhavenBalje (approx. 40 km)
Today, you keep following the Elbe dykes past beautiful nature reserves. Breathe in the fresh North Sea breeze and enjoy the view of small thatched houses along the way. You cross Ottern-dorf and Neuhaus to reach Balje.

Day 4: Balje – Stade (approx. 70 km)
Passing by the towns Freiburg and Wischhafen, you will soon reach the “Kehdinger Land”. The Elbe cycle path here again guides you through protected terrain of outer dyke and with a little luck, you may get the opportunity to watch rare bird species. Today’s goal is the more than 1,000 year old city Stade, which has a beautiful, restorated old town. You can take a stroll here and enjoy the view of beautiful half-timbered houses.

Day 5: Stay in Stade
Enjoy a morning stroll through the more than 1000-year-old city Stade and dis-cover the beautiful old half-timbered houses. You can also do a roadtrip on the "Obstroute" – which is known as the largest contiguous fruit-growing region in Germany.

Day 6: Stade – Hamburg (approx. 50 km)
Today, you will cycle through the Altes Land, a quiet oasis which is known to be the largest contiguous fruit-growing region in Germany. The Elbe River cycle path takes you past windmills, thousands of apple trees und picturesque fruit farms and after passing the town Jork, you will reach the Hanseatic City of Hamburg.

Day 7: Stay in Hamburg
The famous hanseatic city offers a wealth of cultural attractions to light up your evening. Get in the mood with a boat trip from the harbour, a visit to the old ware-house district or a climb up Hamburg’s symbolic church – the "Michel".

Day 8: Individual departure or extension of stay in Hamburg
After your eventful bike trip from Cuxhaven to Hamburg you will start your way back today. You are welcome to individually extend your cycle tour from Cuxhaven to Hamburg by spending a few extra nights in Hamburg, Cuxhaven or other places to stay along the route – please ask us!
