The international long-distance cycling route guides you on 5942 kilometres along the coast of the North Sea and was opened in 2001 as the so called EuroVelo 12.
The North Sea Cycle Path and the Cycle Paths around Eastern Friesland offer the finest pleasures for cycling: Along the dykes or behind them, sheltered from the wind, you will cycle through sleepy villages, lush green meadows and golden waving fields. Thereby, you can always enjoy the view on the North Sea as well as a fresh and salty sea breeze...
Besides, your cycling tours allow unique side trips into the most beautiful cities of Eastern Friesland as e.g. to the North Sea islands Borkum, Norderney and Langeoog. The cycle routes are easy to handle and nearly always follow the dykes.
