Itinerary

• Day 1: Individual arrival in Zittau
  The City Zittau delights with its pretty old town centre, which is under a protection of historic monuments. You can also arrive a day earlier and plan an excursion to Liberec in the Czech Republic or to the source of the Neisse.

• Day 2: Zittau – Görlitz (approx. 43 km)
  Your first cycle tour takes you for the most part along wonderfully romantic cycle paths directly on the banks of the Neisse. In the afternoon you will reach the city of Görlitz. More than 4,000 architectural monuments from 500 years of European architectural history can be experienced here!

• Day 3: Görlitz – Bad Muskau (approx. 70 km)
  Today you will pass through typical moorland villages and the attractive town of Rothenburg. Upon reaching the UNESCO World Heritage Site at Bad Muskau, you have the opportunity to explore Fürst-Pückler-Park with its orangerie, castle and gardens on both sides of the Neiße.

• Day 4: Bad Muskau – Guben (approx. 68 km)
  The next stop is in Forst, a town which boasts a 17-hectare rose garden featuring 800 different varieties of roses and tens of thousands of rose bushes. Guben then offers a number of gems in the form of churches and a church ruin.

• Day 5: Guben – Frankfurt/Oder (approx. 65 km)
  Shortly after leaving Guben, you will pedal past the confluence of the Neiße and the Oder. The highlight of the day is Neuzelle Abbey, which includes the baroque Abbey Church of St Mary. Your journey briefly takes a modern twist as you pass through Eisenhüttenstadt – the first planned town to be completed in the former GDR – before you end the day in the old university town of Frankfurt/Oder.

• Day 6: Frankfurt/Oder – area Groß Neuendorf/Altlewin (approx. 58 - 68 km)
  Today you travel through the lowlands along the Oder – the Oderbruch. Even Theodor Fontane appreciated the harsh beauty of the landscape and you are sure to be inspired too: Cycling in the flat marsh landscape and on the dyke is an unforgettable experience.
  Overnight stay in area Groß Neuendorf or Altlewin
• Day 7: Groß Neuendorf/Altlewin – Schwedt (Oder) (approx. 65 km)
  Your route takes you through the Lower Oder Valley National Park, which is Germany’s only national park dedicated to river meadows. You then glide past the Stolper Grützpott – a 12th-century fortified tower – and Lenné Landscape Park in Criewen before arriving in Schwedt/Oder.

• Day 8: Schwedt/Oder – Löcknitz (approx. 80 km)
  Todays route is hilly, wooded and sparsely populated. You pass the medieval town fortifications of Gartz on your way to Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

• Day 9: Löcknitz- Ueckermünde (approx. 58 km)
  The second last part of your cycle holidays takes you through extensive heathland to the fishing town of Ueckermünde. The picturesque riverside landscape of the Uecker and the neighbouring Szczecin Lagoon provide a habitat for numerous animal and plant species.

• Day 10:Ueckermünde - Island of Usedom (approx. 28 km + ferry + 35 km)
  In the morning you travel from Ueckermünde to Kamp ferry pier, where the zero-emission ferry will take you to Usedom in just a few minutes. From Karnin its not far to the Baltic Sea. The Green Island awaits you with its wooded paths and wide sandy beaches. Spend the night in one of the imperial spas. Sporty option: The whole stage without the ferry is about 85 kilometres.
