A revolution in design began in Weimar over 100 years ago. The 20th century’s most significant and influential design academy, the "Staatliches Bauhaus", was founded in Weimar in 1919 before moving to Dessau. Enjoy a cultural journey in the footsteps of the distinctive Bauhaus style.

Form follows function: Bauhaus creations are amongst the classics of international design. Visit impressive exhibitions, e.g. the "Haus Hohe Pappeln" in Weimar and the Dessau Masters’ Houses and explore the cradle of the modern avant-garde school in the Bauhaus Museum Weimar.

Itinerary

Day 1: Individual arrival in Weimar
On the first day of your group tour "Bauhaus in Weimar and Dessau" your guests will visit the "Nietzsche-Archiv” in Weimar which was designed by Henry van de Velde.
Overnight stay Weimar
Day 2: Weimar
Today it is time to see impressive art. First, there is a guided walking tour of Weimar. Later, there will be a guided visit to the bauhaus museum (UNESCO-listed). Moreover your group should not miss a visit to "Haus Hohe Pappeln", the former residence of Henry van de Velde.
Overnight stay Weimar
Day 3: Jena & Gera
After your breakfast your group starts a day excursion to Jena and Gera. In Jena you find different places built during the bauhaus period, e.g. Villa Zuckerkandl or Haus Auerbach. In Gera your group will visit the Museum for Applied Art and The Haus Schulenburg.
Overnight stay Weimar
Day 4: Individual departure
In the morning you will have the opportunity to visit the Haus am Horn in Weimar, a model which was built on the occasion of a Bauhaus exhibition in 1923. After an impressive cultural tour to Weimar we wish you a pleasant way home. We hope you have spent a great time in Germany during this tour!
