Today the tour in the footsteps of the great musicians continues. The Bach Museum is one of the most famous museums of Leipzig. Get to know more about Johann Sebastian Bach, the renowned composer of Baroque times. Another famous sight of Leipzig is the restaurant “Auerbachs Keller”. There you can enjoy German cuisine in a very special atmosphere. Later that day we would suggest the visit of the Mendelssohn House. This museum tells about the life and work of the composer who is considered to be one of the most important musicians of the Romantic period and set new standards as a conductor.
In the afternoon the Monument to the Battle of the Nations is worth a visit, a very impressive building telling interesting stories.

In 1828 Robert Schumann came to Leipzig in order to study law. Here he decided to dedicate his life to music. The Schumann House tells more stories about the pianist and composer.
The afternoon is free to explore Leipzig. Get to know the beautiful courtyards of the former merchant´s houses and have a coffee in one of the many cafés, e.g. the famous café Kandler next to St. Thomas´s Church. Do not miss to try the “Leipziger Lerche”, a culinary specialty of the city. Our tip: On Friday and Saturday motets can be enjoyed at the world famous St. Thomas´s Church.
Day 4: Individual return journey or extension
Today you start the journey home or extend your stay. If you would like to get to know more about the German composers we recommend to visit Weimar and enjoy an organ music performance at Herder Church. Another idea would be to visit Halle where Georg Friedrich Händel lived for 18 years. Or take a trip to Dresden where you will learn more about Richard Wagner. There are many possibilities.
