The Gewandhaus Leipzig starts into new concert season

At the beginning of September, the Gewandhaus Leipzig, one of the most well-respected concert halls in the world, started into the new concert season offering a multifaceted programme. The Great Concert traditionally is the beginning of the new season. This year the focus was on the work of the master Ludwig van Beethoven under the musical direction of Herbert Blomstedt. Beside the concert in the Great Hall of the Gewandhaus, other concerts took place all over Leipzig for example in the famous courts Barthels Hof and Specks Hof. Music enthusiasts had the chance to listen to pieces of Johann Sebastian Bach and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
