Information on cycle tours along the Elbe Cycle Path with a stay in or through Dresden:

You may have already heard from the media that one of Dresden's Elbe bridges, the Carola Bridge, has recently partially collapsed. This has led to the closure of the left and right Elbe Cycle Path in the area of the bridge ends as well as the diversion of public transport and road routes.

Please cycle well clear of this area!!! There is a danger to life. In the coming days there will certainly be an official diversions signposting, until then please use the appropriate side roads to avoid the section in question and rejoin the cycle path later.

Here are two suggestions for a bypass:
Left side of the Elbe (Old Town)
Right side of the Elbe (New Town)

Information on the walking holidays along the Malerweg:

UPDATE 19/09/2024: The Amselgrund is accessible again from the Pionierweg junction. The hiking trail on which large boulders had fallen has been cleared. There is no longer any danger from the neighbouring boulders.
