Heidelberg Christmas market

Heidelberg Christmas sprawls over several historic places as e.g. University Square, market place and Kornmarket along Main Street. Stroll along the idyllic narrow streets of Heidelberg and explore all 140 small wooden stalls with their rich selection of festive goods and charming gift ideas. In the romantic setting of the Church of Holy Spirit, the town hall and historic town houses the Christmas town presents itself around the Hercules fountain. Besides pottery, wood crafts, glassware and jewellery, one can also find various culinary specialties. After dusk, visitors can witness how light projectors turn the town hall facade into a colourful Advent calendar. Standing on the Kornmarket, visitors have a spectacular view of Heidelberg Castle. Offering kits, finger paints, doll furniture and wooden toys, Heidelberg Christmas market puts children into focus.

Freiburg Christmas market

About 111 Christmas stalls turn Freiburg’s historic downtown, located between town hall square, Unterlindenplatz, potato market and Franciscan Street, into a big Christmas village. The Freiburg Christmas market is especially popular due to various offered handcrafted products as e.g. candles, felt products, high quality pottery as well as hand puppets, wooden toys and nativity cribs. Here, you can watch wood turners, glass blowers or the “brick cracker” and purchase any kinds of Christmas decoration and gifts. If you would like to get creative, you may try out your manual skills in the candle atelier by creating your own candle. Freiburg Christmas market sure offers everyone a wide range for Christmas strolls. Triberger Christmas Magic

Christmas market in the Ravennaschlucht

At the entrance of Ravennaschlucht in Höllental, you can find the most wild romantic Christmas market of the entire country taking place on all four weekends of Advent. Surrounded by steep, wooded hills, the Galgenbühl near Hofgut Sternen and the railroad viaduct of the Höllental train measuring 40 m in height, the Christmas market sure offers its visitors fantastic ambience. This small wooden cabin village is transformed into a sea of lights and will delight you with products from more than 40 vendors as e.g. finest craftworks, extraordinary presents and regional specialties. Experience traditional crafts and Christmassy music and let yourself be indulged by varied offerings of food and drinks.
