Traditional Christmas market

The traditional Christmas market of Potsdam is an annual tradition. It is situated nearby the famous Sanssouci palace on Brandenburger Street between St. Peter and Paul’s church and Luisen square. Taste the local mulled wine, the traditional Christmas dishes and discover the secrets of the local handicraft. There will be an ice-skating ring on Luisen square, where the visitors can be active to the sound of festive music and Christmas story telling.

Sinterklaas Festival in the Dutch Quarter

For all those who like to discover other cultures and traditions, the Sinterklaas Festival in the Dutch Quarter is the perfect opportunity. As at home in the Netherlands, Sinterklaas himself rides into the Potsdam district on his white horse and opens the festival. Visitors will find plenty of treats, fine things and exciting craft shows at Dutch and local stalls, while Sinterklaas spends time with the children.

Bohemian Christmas market

The bohemian Christmas market takes place on the 1st and the 2nd Advent weekend on the Weber square in Babelsberg. Visitors are offered the opportunity to combine Christmas market flair with interesting facts about the history of this district. Events such as the “Long Babelsberg Mulled Wine Night” and the bohemian “Pastoral Fair” paired with the handicraft traditions, artists and typical bohemian meals and drinks are what makes the Christmas market so special. You should definitely not miss this wonderful Christmas celebration during your visit in Potsdam!

25. - 27. November and 2. - 4. December 2022, Weberplatz

Polish Star-market

The 2nd Advent weekend bears the motto “Handicrafts, culture and culinary peculiarities”. The reason for this is the main focus of the Polish Star-market, situated at the Kutschstallhof on the New Markt, on Polish traditions and specialties. The absolute highlight of this Christmas market is the "Concert of the middle", where German and Polish folk music is presented.
