Bavarian Alps and lakes - Hiking from Bad Tölz to Bayrischzell

Itinerary

• Day 1: Individual arrival at Bad Tölz
  This little town shows you a typical sight of Bavarian. Go for a stroll and some typical food in the middle of the historical centre and relax a bit before the journey starts next day.
  Overnight stay in Bad Tölz
• Day 2: Bad Tölz – Bad Wiessee (approx. 18 km, walking time: approx. 5 hrs)
  Your journey starts with taking a train to Lenggreis, where you soon will follow the Via Alpina. The path will show you over the Hirschtal-col alongside with the mountains of Fockenstein. Take a break and eat some typical Bavarian delicacies before walking on towards Bad Wiessee. You will go through light forests and meadows full with flowers with view onto the Lake Tegernsee below. You will spend the night in Bad Wiessee.

• Day 3: Round Tour to Mount Riederstein (approx. 9 km, walking time: approx. 3.5 – 5 hrs)
  In the morning light you can enjoy the view over Tegernsee while being on a boat. At the other side of the lake your goal will be a little chapel up on the Riederstein. You will have an panoramic view from up there before tracking back and crossing the lake again to Bad Wiessee, where you will spend your night again.
  Overnight stay in Bad Tölz
• Day 4: Bad Wiessee – Lake Schliersee (approx. 12 km, walking time: approx. 4 – 4.5 hrs)
  This part of the journey includes a walk up to the famous Alpine beer garden Neureuth. After you enjoyed the view from up there, go down into a forest that will guide you to Schliersee.

• Day 5: Round Tour to Lake Spitzingsee (approx. 13 km, walking time: approx. 3 – 4 hrs)
  Walk on the Lakeside-adventure-path to Fischhausen and then take the Brockerbahn path towards the Spitzing-col and the Spitziglake. Take a long break there and enjoy the view as well as the peacefulness. The historical chalet "Wurzhütte" will be the best place for resting your feet before the journey back to Schliersee with a bus.
  Overnight stay in Schliersee
• Day 6: Schliersee – Bayrischzell (approx. 15 km, walking time: approx. 5 hrs)
  Per cable car you will get to the summit station on Mount Taubenstein where you will walk on a high-altitude path. As well as from the cable car you will have a panoramic view over the Bavarian Alps from this path. Later you will get to the Rotwandhaus, where you will have the opportunity to climb to the peak of the Rotwand. Walk further through the picturesque cirque Großtiefentaler Kessel to lake Soinsee. With this idyllic picture in mind finish today’s stage and walk on towards Bayrischzell. Again your path will be surrounded by typical alpine pastures and flowering meadows.

• Day 7: Round Tour on Mountain Wendelstein (approx. 5 km, walking time: approx. 4 – 5 hrs)
  The last journey for this vacation will lead you on the King-Maximilian-path towards the Wendelstein-Alp. You will pass a magnifying waterfall before you will see the impressing meteorological observatory. The way towards the next highlight of today´s journey is filled with panoramic views over the landscape of the Alps. The Wendelstein cave with its amazing underground tunnels waits for you for discovering. Have a nice break at the panorama-beer garden with a "Brotzeit" before you take the cable car back into the valley. Now you can stroll leisurely back to Bayrischzell were you will spend your last night.

• Day 8: Individual departure
  After those adventurous days maybe take some time to relax. Equally if at home or during some extra nights at Bad Toelz or Barischzell, go back over your memories and take some of the peace with you. We are happy to assist you with booking additional nights for you!
