More information about our walking holidays in the Black Forest
The Black Forest (German: Schwarzwald) is a large forested mountain range in south-western Germany. Bounded by the Rhine valley it is a woodland area with a length of 160 km (99 mi) and breadth of up to 60 km (37 mi). The length of all trails combined is some 23,000 kilometres and it is said that hiking was invented in the Black Forest. True or not – the Black Forest offers some of the finest hiking experience in Europe! The Black Forest became famous for its natural beauty and unique cultural characteristics but also for its diverse hiking trails such as Westweg, a hiking trail in the western Black Forest, or the Schluchtensteig, a hiking trail in southern Black Forest. Explore this beautiful hiking region while going on one of our self-guided walking holidays throughout the Black Forest region!
