• Route of the Main Cycle Path?
  The popular river cycle path leads from the sources of the Red and White Main to the river mouth of the Main in the Rhine. With a total length of almost 600 kilometres, ambitious cyclists as well as touring and short-distance cyclists will find ideal routes for exciting cycle tours.
• Quality of the Main Cycle Route?
  In 2008, the Main Cycle Route was one of the first long-distance cycle routes in Germany to be awarded five stars by the Allgemeiner Deutscher Fahrrad-Club (ADFC). The Main Cycle Route received this best possible categorisation because over 90% of it leads through natural and scenic areas and has an equally large proportion of asphalted cycle paths.
• Popularity of the Main Cycle Path?
  In the ADFC's annual travel analyses, the Main Cycle Path has always secured one of the top places in recent years. In 2018, it ranked fourth among the most popular cycle routes in Germany, just behind the Elbe Cycle Route, Weser Cycle Route and Ruhr Valley Cycle Route.
• Route character of the Main Cycle Path?
  The Main Cycle Route is largely car-free and runs on well-maintained, mostly tarmac paths on predominantly flat terrain. In the immediate vicinity of the river you cycle on well signposted paths.
• Main Cycle Path logo?
  The cycle route is usually only signposted along one side of the river, although the banks of the Main can be cycled on both sides in places.
