Day 1: Individual arrival to Dresden
After an individual arrival to Dresden, you will get to enjoy a music-themed walking tour to the baroque “Florence on the Elbe”. A nice dinner at a traditional restaurant will mark the end of day 1 of your music tour.
Overnight stay in Dresden -
Day 2: Graupa and Pillnitz
Today you will learn more about Wagner and his time spent in the Dresden-area. First stop will be to the Richard-Wagner-sites (Lohengrin House and Hunting Lodge) in Graupa, where he stayed during a summer and where he wrote the music for Lohengrin. A leisurely stroll through the gardens of Pillnitz will get you ready for the afternoon visit to the Carl-Maria-von-Weber-Museum. The exhibition will introduce you to the composer´s life and work, and will make the connection to Wagner. Your day will end with a boat trip along the Elbe River back to Dresden on one of the historic paddle steamers, operated by the Sächsische Dampfschifffahrt.

Day 3: Semper Opera and Leipzig
Bring your Dresden stay to a close with an exclusive guided tour at the Semper Opera Dresden, one of the most well-known opera houses in Germany. Afterwards you will continue to Leipzig, the city of music, for the next leg of your tour. A local guide will take you on a walking tour, introducing you to this city. A visit to the Bach museum and the Thomas Church also goes highly recommended for every Leipzig stay.

Day 4: Wagner in Leipzig
First on today´s list will be a tour to the exhibition “Young Richard Wagner, 1813 – 1834” at the Richard-Wagner-Museum Leipzig. It focuses on showcasing his younger years and the circumstances that made him who he was. Another exiting visit will be to the Mendelssohn House. The museum honours the great composer and long-term conductor of the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra. An evening visit to a performance at the Leipzig Gewandhaus or Leipzig Opera can certainly be included during your stay.

Day 5: Bayreuth
Next leg of your music tour will be Bayreuth. You will start out with a walking tour in the footsteps of Wagner. The tour will end with an extended visit at the Richard Wagner Museum, located in the composer’s former residence “Wahnfried House”. He spent his last years at this house and amongst working on other projects, finished his world famous opera cycle “Ring des Nibelungen”.

Day 6: Festspielhaus and departure
You will finish your music tour with one last highlight, a guided tour at the Festival Theatre. Located on the green hill, it was designed by the composer himself and remains one of the opera houses with the best acoustics in the world. After an eventful music tour in the footsteps of Richard Wagner, you will make your way back home.
