Dresden Music Festival 2026

The annual Dresden Music Festival will take place for the 49th time this year from May 14 to June 14. "Lightness of Being" is the motto of Dresden Music Festival 2026, as it offers a welcome distraction in difficult times. With classical music, jazz, comedy and plenty of light-heartedness, Jan Vogler and his team in Dresden have put together a diverse program of 64 events at more than 20 venues.

Finally, the time has come again: on May 14, a whole month of music starts in Dresden with the opening of the 49^th Dresden Music Festival under the motto "Lightness of Being". This year, the focus is not only on music but also on drama and comedy. The festival is to be opened this year on a humorous note: at the opening gala on May 15, the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Tabita Berglund, will join forces with comedian Olaf Schubert. Richard Wagner's "Götterdämmerung" is also on the programme the evening before. Tickets are still available for some concerts!
