Lucia Christmas market in the Culture Brewery

Both its somewhat unusual name and a delightfully festive atmosphere lend the Lucia Christmas Market a special charm. Held at Berlin’s Kulturbrauerei (literally “Culture Brewery”), the market brings the festive traditions of the Nordic-Scandinavian countries to the German capital. The 60 lovingly decorated stalls spread around the historic building ensemble are an invitation to stroll around and enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of the Christmas period!

Gendarmenmarkt Christmas market

Enjoy the magic at Gendarmenmarkt Christmas market, which is one of the most popular Christmas markets in the capital of Germany. Feel the very special atmosphere between the New Church and the French Cathedral. With a very versatile program and the beautiful illumination, the Gendarmenmarkt Christmas Market attracts many guests each year.

Winter World on Potsdamer Platz

A very special experience is the visit of the Winter World of the Potsdamer Platz. Whether you like it very traditional with ginger bread, mulled wine and Christmas songs or if you prefer to see a modern Christmas market in the middle of the contemporary architecture of the Potsdamer Platz. The Winter World presents the largest mobile ice track in Europe and offers fun to young and old. The proximity to one of the best known sights of Berlin, the Brandenburg Gate, is another highlight.

Romantic Christmas market in Bornstedt Crown Estate

Located on Bornstedt Lake close to Sanssouci Palace, Bornstedt Crown Estate was formerly a model estate kept by the House of Hohenzollern. Each and every year, visitors are invited into the historic inner courtyard of the UNESCO-listed ensemble to delight in the hustle and bustle of a romantic Christmas village. Traders in charmingly illuminated wooden huts offer a variety of regional specialties, arts and crafts, Christmas accessories, seasonal fashion, fragrant delicacies and great gift ideas. Christkindlesmarkt Nuremberg

The Christkindlmarkt in the Bavarian toy making city of Nuremberg is thought by many to be the most prestigious and atmospheric Christmas markets in the world. A completely traditional spirit pervades this “little town of wood and cloth” in the market square in the heart of the Old Town. With the backdrop of the square’s Church of Our Lady and beautiful fountain providing a unique ambience, the market’s many visitors may well feel their festive spirits soar as they browse for traditional presents for their loved ones.

Christkindlmarkt Munich

Known as the “Christkindlmarkt”, Munich’s main Christmas market is one of Germany’s oldest, and enjoys fame well beyond the boundaries of the Bavarian capital. Grouped around Marienplatz square, the market was first mentioned in a document as the “Nikolausmarkt” in 1310. Its traditions include the erection of a nearly 30 metre-high Christmas tree decorated with 2,500 lights in front of the Town Hall. 140 stalls attract around three million visitors from around the world each year.
